Substitute Employment

Do you love working with kids? Do you want a job with the option to choose the days you work? Are you considering a career in education and need experience?

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District is actively pursuing talented and caring individuals to serve as substitute teachers and substitute support staff in all buildings.

  • Substitute Teachers earn $140 per full day (plus a free lunch)

  • Substitute Paraprofessionals (Teacher Aides) earn $14 per hour

How do I know if I am qualified to be a substitute teacher?

  • You must have or be eligible to receive a Wisconsin DPI teacher license.

  • OR if you have an associate's or bachelor's degree (even if it is not a teaching license) and complete a brief training, then you will likely be eligible to apply for a license.
