Welcome to G-E-T!

We’re excited to welcome our newest members of the G-E-T teaching staff. Our new teachers spent the past two days getting to know our district, our schools, and each other during New Teacher Inservice. They toured the district, enjoyed lunch together at River Cafe in Trempealeau, met their mentors, learned about some of the systems and programs they’ll use throughout the year, and spent time with our district Integration Specialists preparing for the year ahead.

Most importantly, they had time to connect, ask questions, learn from one another, and begin building the relationships that will help them feel at home in our district.

In just a little over a week, they’ll welcome students through their classroom doors. We can’t wait to see the energy, enthusiasm, and experience they’ll bring to our schools!

Welcome to the G-E-T family! We’re glad you’re here!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to learn about our recent referendum and cast your vote. We are deeply grateful for your engagement, participation, and concern for our schools. While the unofficial election results show that the referendum did not pass, our commitment to providing our students with a safe, supportive, and high-quality educational environment remains unchanged.

We hear you. The outcome of this vote tells us that we need to step back, listen further, and re-evaluate our approach. This is not the end of the conversation—it is a reset. Achieving the best for our students requires a collaborative effort, and we are dedicated to working alongside our communities to find a solution we can all support.

Thank you again for your continued partnership and dedication to our schools.

Sincerely,
Michele Butler, District Administrator

All aboard for learning!

Mrs. Ruud's Summer School class recently enjoyed a day of learning in the community with a train ride from Winona to La Crosse. Before boarding the train, students shared lunch together and toured the museum at Winona National Bank, making for a day filled with new experiences and meaningful learning.

Throughout the summer, students in Mrs. Ruud's class have been building important life skills by getting out into the community and participating in authentic, real world experiences. Whether practicing social skills, building independence, exploring new places, making meals, or learning how to navigate different community settings, each experience helps students grow in confidence and prepares them for life beyond the classroom.

At G-E-T, we believe learning extends far beyond school walls. Experiences like these are a wonderful example of our mission of Learning for All, Learning for Life, providing every student with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive through meaningful experiences that will last a lifetime.

Thank you to Mrs. Ruud and everyone who helped make this memorable day possible!

The temperatures were high, but so was the Red Hawk pride!

Today, the G-E-T Marching Band and Dance Team proudly represented our school and community at the Trempealeau Catfish Days Parade. We are incredibly proud of our students, who showed resilience, dedication, and outstanding musicianship while performing in the summer heat.

The G-E-T Marching Band is grateful for the incredible support it receives throughout the year from our families and the entire G-E-T community. Community events like Catfish Days provide a wonderful opportunity for our students to give back by sharing their talents and helping bring energy and excitement to local celebrations. It is an honor to represent our schools and the communities that support us so well.

Experiences like these remind us that some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond the classroom. Students build teamwork, responsibility, perseverance, leadership, and pride while creating memories that will last a lifetime. It is another example of our mission in action: Learning for All, Learning for Life.

Thank you to everyone who cheered on our Red Hawks today, and thank you to our students, directors, staff, families, and volunteers for making another outstanding performance possible.
