Art process

All students have the opportunity to engage in the art process: generate original ideas, develop those ideas, create with a wide-variety of materials, reflect on both the process and product, and a space for presentation.

6th Grade Art

All 6th graders participate in a 6-week art term.  In this term, they will have experiences in a variety of materials.  We focus on the art process and begin to identify our ways of thinking like an artist.

Projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Drawing

  • Painting

  • Clay

  • Mixed Media

Art students engage in lots of self-reflection, identifying areas of strength and places for growth.  Here are our current self-reflections in rubric form.
