FCS prepares students for family work, life work, and their careers by empowering individuals and families across the lifespan to manage the challenge of living and working in a diverse global society. 

All 7th-grade students participate in a 6-week term of FCS. During this time students participate in four hands-on units related to FCS including, Housing and Interior Design, Sewing, Culinary Arts, and Child Development. 

8th-grade students have the opportunity to continue their learning by participating in an additional 6-week term of FCS. During this time students will work on hands-on projects that exapand their knoweldge from the four major areas leanred in 7th grade. The FCS 8 units include Housing and Intierior Design, Sewing, Culinary Arts, and Child Development.
